Documentation and PlatformIO!

There is a new documentation site for Astropixels!

https://r2djp.gitbook.io/astropixels

It doesn’t contain anything overly new compared to this website, but does give it a much better format. I’ll be including a link via a QR code in all Astropixel sets going forward.

One big benefit is that I’ve switched to PlatformIO for compiling and installing the firmware. You can still use the code in Arduino, but with PlatformIO I can now have different firmwares in the same repo. There are now a number of customer (tweaked) firmwares available to install via a web page. This includes one with Marcduino support, and a couple to give different colour options.

All the documentation is included in the repo, and dynamically updated. The firmware too is automatically compiled on updates!

Let me know what you think.

Hello Darren, I Have had your light set of Astros for 2 years and finally getting to put them in but, the sketch that’s defaulted won’t even show full demo mode? Can you help please? I need a way to either reformat or update to software / sketch. Also to learn how I can make the Demo mode for me to be some thing I could have while R2 is stationary? My Name is Troy Woodman from the USA. And my number is 503-515-1734. I have been trying to get these in my R2 for a while now but need them tested for my app first. Thank you in advanced

      Hey,

Not sure what you mean by demo mode? If you plug them in they should just go into standard R2 mode. Are some not coming on?

Best to email me at admin@we-make-things.co.uk for support stuff.

If you follow the link above to the instructions there is a way to flash the default code via a web browser too. Along with coding examples if you want to change things.
